No Six was established in 2017 in Tāmaki Makaurau ki te Rawhiti (East Auckland) with a mission to change the narrative. The company started as a media club, to encourage our young people to be in charge of our own stories. Digital content was seen to be something inaccessible to many and so our mission to democratise the platform included holding an incubator space, to accelerate our creativity through content posted online. 

 

Over the years we have evolved into a digital content agency where we now work with people to help them tell their story collaboratively. No Six seeks to establish rapport (talanoa) in order to understand the story better because we believe it is the people's stories to tell. 

 

What's the background of the name No Six?

No Six was initially called the “Tāmaki Media Club”, however we felt our name needed to evolve if we wanted to provide a service outside of our community. Being proud East Aucklanders, we still wanted to incorporate something in our name that paid homage to our community.

If we take the word EAST and explore what the letters look like if they were numbers, 'E' looks like a '3', 'A' looks like a '4', 'S' looks like a '5' and '7' looks like a 'T'. Put them in sequential order and it reads '3457' which there is a missing '6', hence our name No Six. Churry.
